School year 2020-2021 will go on! Or if it doesn’t, learning will never stop. We are still adjusting in our new norm – and it’s not easy balancing work from home, household chores, and passion works. If adjusting can be stressful for us adults, how much more for the little Prince, right? So, we are trying to help and provide the best support we can – including these must-have items and a little home organizing tweak. Though there are cheaper items available in the market, we decided to stretch our budget a little to ensure quality.
So far (though there’s a time when he got really emotional and cried for not typing too fast), our 2nd grader is adapting well in the online school environment.
Acer Aspire 5 Laptop
Aside from your pens and notebooks, this is an ultimate must-have for online school! No explanations needed. I let the King decide on this. I’m not really techie. I think he bought it because it already has Intel Core i3 for faster task processing, and Storage in SSD + 1,000Gb HDD. He said the memory RAM just needs upgrading, but totally optional for now.
We got it at PHP28,000 (originally at P31,999) from Abenson.com.
HP Smart Tank 515 Wireless All-in-One Printer
A bit bulky, but looks really sturdy! With this inkjet printer, you can “print and scan anywhere thru the HP Smart Mobile App”, as long as you’re connected to the wi-fi or bluetooth. I’m totally not gonna miss our office printer lol.
You can also print in high volumes (and turns out cheaper in the long run), in full color! PLUS, it uses up LESSER cartridge! There’s no need to buy a new cartridge everytime, instead just refill inks straight from bottles.
Investment costs at PHP 9,295, Octagon Greenbelt. Convenience is really costly nowadays. haha.
JBL JR 300 Headphones
Available in 2 colors – light blue and red-blue (which I actually like better, but the kid likes clean light colors). It’s lightweight and soft-padded, with adjustable headband, cute icons, and stickers! It features JBL Safe Sound at <85dB making it perfectly safe for kids.
Available on sale at PHP1,099 (originally at PHP 1,499) from Lazada.
Blu-Loc Anti Blue Light Glasses
With at least 2-3 hours of screen time everyday, better keep our kids’ eyes safe and protected. Some says it’s not necessary, some yes. I’m staying on the safe side though. Here’s a good read on why blue light can be both good and bad. 🙂
Got ours from my aunt. Buy from/through me? Or you can check optical shops near you. 🙂
OUR SUPPLIES CABINET
Lastly, this is what I’m most proud of! Organizing cost, PHP ZERO! Haha. I rearranged one cabinet and turned it into our supplies cabinet. So, we know where to get all our school and office supplies. Will put labels next. I discovered that we already have a growing bookstore at home without us noticing. This will surely save us trips to the bookstore for now.
I’m also trying to live a more minimal-ish, purposeful life. So, this hopefully is a good start.
